Introducing the Deka Motus Laser!!
Laser hair removal (LHR) has become a popular hair removal treatment of choice for many clients over the recent years. Any laser-based treatment has great potential to yield successful long-lasting results. Here at Envy Med Spa,
we use state-of-art laser technology: Deka Motus Laser! With the advanced technology of the Deka Motus featuring a sapphire tip cooling, Envy Med Spa can treat all skin types safely and effectively. Long gone are the days of light
skin and dark hair getting the best treatments. Envy’s Deka Motus laser is the only LHR laser on the market to use TWO wavelengths on ALL skin types to destroy hair follicles.
BEFORE YOUR LHR TREATMENT?
Always opt for an in-person consultation with your provider to clear any doubts or questions you may have regarding the treatment.
Your provider is thoroughly trained and licensed to assess whether you are a candidate for the treatment or not. They will also be able to estimate the number of treatments you may require. During your consultation, be sure to discuss all types of medications you may currently be on as some medications can cause photosensitivity and increased risk of side effects. Always arrive to your appointment completely clean shaven. Clean shaven areas get the best results as all of the energy is able to reach the hair follicle rather being wasted on targeting hair on the surface.
No waxing, tweezing, plucking 2 to 3 weeks prior to your appointment
Stop using skincare products such as retinoids, salicylic acid, hydroxy acid and benzoyl peroxide about 2-3 days prior to the treatment if treating the face. Avoid tanning beds, spray tans and all forms of tanning 6 weeks prior to the treatment. Avoid lotions, oils, creams prior to treatment.
AFTER YOUR LHR TREATMENT?
The most common side effect from laser hair removal will be only mild redness in the treatment area.
Tips on how to properly care for treated areas post laser hair removal:
Attend any scheduled follow ups and additional treatment in a timely manner.
Avoid sun exposure and wear sunscreen with high SPF. For the first 24 hours, avoid all types of heat including hot showers, saunas, steam rooms and exercise as this may lead to discoloration or infection. Resume skincare products with strong ingredients like retinoids, salicylic acid, hydroxy acid and benzoyl peroxide after 1-week post treatment (if treating the face). Avoid lotions, perfumes, oils for 48 hours post treatment.
HOW MANY SESSIONS?
An average of 6 sessions is always recommended to achieve final results. Appointments should be scheduled every 4 to 8 weeks depending on hair growth.

WHICH HAIR TYPES CANNOT BE TREATED?
Blonde, grey and white hair cannot be targeted by any LHR device. Laser hair removal works by “seeing” and targeting the pigment in the hair follicle allowing it to destroy it. Because of the advanced technology of the sapphire tip cooling, most clients feel as though they barely received a treatment. It is truly PAIN FREE! As we progress through the series of treatments and increase the energy, a slight warming sensation may be felt though it is very tolerable.
Mild redness following the treatment is normal. Old technology left patients with swelling and a sunburn like appearance, but this is no longer true with advanced laser treatments. To maximize your amazing results and limit any unwanted side effects, follow along for some helpful tips!
